About the Usinsh IV outdoor sauna module

Usinsh IV is a complete wood fired sauna module with a separate anteroom. The wiring and the water inlet are built in at the factory, so on site they only need to be connected.

Module interior

The module is split into two rooms, separated by a glass door.

Anteroom

The anteroom has large windows in the side wall and next to the entrance door, so the corner opens the view in two directions. The glass carries a selective coating that reflects part of the solar heat, which keeps the room from warming up as fast in summer. The glass door holds most of the heat and steam in the sauna room, so the anteroom works as a place to rest between sessions.

Sauna room

The sauna room window covers almost the whole wall, so the view is there from the bench. A small opening window is built in as well, for airing the room after a session.

Equipment

The Ozols wood stove heats the sauna room and the water, so a separate electric boiler is not needed. Electricity runs the lighting and the sockets only, which means a single phase connection is enough.

Materials and insulation

Walls, ceiling and benches in the sauna room are thermo alder, which takes in less moisture than untreated timber. The floor is ceramic tile, which stands up to water and lets the room be washed down after a session. In the anteroom the walls and ceiling are spruce boards, lighter in tone than the sauna room. The floor is vinyl. Walls and ceiling are insulated with a closed-pore polyurethane system while the floors use Finnfoam. The thickest layer sits in the ceiling, because that is where the hottest air in a sauna collects.

Shipping container frame

Every REBORN modular home and sauna cabin is built from a shipping container with a steel frame. That build lets a shipping container sauna be moved from one site to another, because the steel frame takes both the lifting and the transport. A level base has to be prepared on the property before delivery.
